Employers' Responsibilities

It is important to know and understand Employers' responsibilities so that we can realize this. Together, we join hands to make an impact towards better and sustainable social security, in line with achieving Brunei's Vision 2035 for a high standard of living.

EMPLOYER’S RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure registration as an Employer


Upon registering your company with the Registry of Companies and Business Names (ROCBN), your company will be automatically registered with TAP.

Companies registered before 2009 are required to register through TAP's online service portal, e-Amanah


Business Representative Information


Employers are responsible for ensuring that the Business Representative information registered with TAP is accurate and up to date.

The Business Representative must be the current owner of the company as registered with ROCBN.

Where there is a change to the company’s ownership, employers are required to update the Business Representative information promptly through e-Amanah.


Employee Registration and Record Management


Employers are responsible for ensuring that employee in e-Amanah are accurate, complete and up to date.

This include:

  • Registering new employees who have never been registered with TAP.
  • Updating the information of existing employees.
  • Updating employees' employment status when they cease employment.
  • Ensuring that employee records remain accurate at all times

Existing Employees

For employees who are already registered with TAP, employers are required to update their employee information through e-Amanah whenever there are changes.

New Employee Registration

For employees who have never been registered with TAP, employers are required to register them through e-Amanah and upload the required supporting documents.

  • Brunei Citizens: Copy of Identity Card.
  • Permanent Residents (Purple Identity Card): Copy of Identity Card and Passport.

Former Employees

Where an employee is no longer employed by the company, employers are required to update the employee's status to Resigned through e-Amanah to ensure that employee records remain accurate and up to date.

Maintaining accurate employee records facilitates the efficient administration of TAP and helps ensure that employees receive their correct entitlements


Submission of Contributions for Employers and Employees

Note:

All Employee matters such as registration and contribution payments can be completed via TAP’s online service portal, e-Amanah.

Registration is mandatory for all eligible employees regardless of employment type, contract duration, or probationary status.
