Tabung Amanah Pekerja (TAP) has organised a two-day program called Lakastah Bersedia starting from Monday, 25 May 2026 until Tuesday, 26 May 2026 at the Sepakat 4 Hall, International Convention Centre.
The program aims to raise awareness on the importance of early preparation for retirement, covering key aspects such as financial planning, healthcare, family and social wellbeing, estate management, and cyber security. The target group comprises individuals expected to retire within the next 10 to 15 years.
The session was attended by a total of 48 participants, comprising officers and staff from the Ministry of Education, accompanied bytheir spouses. . The inclusion of spouses in this programme is a key element of its approach, recognising that retirement planning is most effective when undertaken jointly; by encouraging open communication, shared decision-making, and alignment of financial goals and lifestyle expectations, the initiative aims to promote greater preparedness and long-term security. It is therefore anticipated that this collaborative engagement will further enhance the overall effectiveness and sustainability of retirement planning strategies among participants.
Through this program, participants gained valuable insights and practical guidance from several invited institutions. In addition to briefings on financial and retirement planning presentation delivered by the TAP Retirement Services Unit, participating institutions included Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB), which emphasised the importance of identifying and avoiding financial scams; Bahagian Khidmat Nasihat Keluarga from Department of Syariah Affairs, which focused on family and social wellbeing; Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), discussing estate management before and after death in accordance with Syariah principles; the Health Promotion Centre (HPC), promoting the importance of maintaining good health before and during retirement; and Cyber Security Brunei (CSB), which shared insights on key digital security issues and practical guidance to avoid falling victim to cybercrime.
