Tabung Amanah Pekerja (TAP) successfully organised the Lakastah Bersedia Program for the second time this year. This comprehensive retirement planning initiative was held over two days from Wednesday, 15 October to Thursday, 16 October 2025 at Dewan Amar Pahlawan, Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications.
The program aims to raise awareness on the importance of early preparation for retirement, covering key aspects such as financial planning, healthcare, family and social wellbeing, estate management and cyber security. The target group comprises individuals expected to retire within the next 10 to 15 years.
For this session, a total of 30 officers and staff from the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, along with their spouses, were invited to participate. The involvement of spouses in retirement planning is intended to strengthen the effectiveness of joint retirement strategies.
Through this program, participants gained valuable insights and practical guidance from several invited institutions. In addition to the financial and retirement planning sessions conducted by TAP’s Retirement Services Unit, participating institutions included Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB), highlighting the importance of identifying and avoiding financial scams; Bahagian Khidmat Nasihat Keluarga (BKNK), focusing on family and social wellbeing; Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), discussing estate management before and after death in accordance with Syariah law; the Health Promotion Centre (HPC), promoting the importance of maintaining good health before and during retirement; and Cyber Security Brunei (CSB), sharing insights on digital safety and practical tips to avoid falling victim to cybercrime.
The program also emphasised the importance of setting retirement income goals and taking early action to maintain a comfortable lifestyle during retirement. TAP encourages its members to make voluntary contributions to their SPK Member Account as a proactive step to enhance their retirement savings.
Through Lakastah Bersedia, TAP hopes to provide participants with a strong foundation for building a more secure, well-planned, and meaningful retirement. Similar initiatives will continue to be extended to other ministries and agencies in the future.
