The 42nd ASEAN Social Security Association (ASSA) Board and Secretariat Meeting was successfully held on 5 November 2025 at The Rizqun International Hotel, Gadong, Brunei Darussalam. The meeting was hosted by the Employee Trust Fund (TAP) and attended by delegates from ASSA member institutions across the ASEAN region.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Jose Arnulfo A. Veloso, President and General Manager of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Philippines, and ASSA Chairman for 2024–2025. During the session, the Chairman called the meeting to order, delivered his opening remarks, and led the ASSA Board Meeting.
The session also featured the signing of the ASSA Sustainability Pledge, a presentation of the ASSA Trophy Concept Video, the 2025 ASSA Recognition Awards, and the ASSA Year-in-Review Video, highlighting the collective achievements and collaborative efforts of member institutions throughout the year.
A key highlight of the meeting was the handover of the ASSA Chairmanship from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Philippines, to the Employee Trust Fund (TAP), Brunei Darussalam. The ceremony marked the official nomination of Mr. Azmilen bin Haji Ramlee, Interim Managing Director of TAP, as the new ASSA Chairman for 2025–2026. Madam Melissa Khoo, Chief Executive Officer of the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board, Singapore, was appointed as the new ASSA Vice Chairman, while Mr. Haji Ibnu Shahrinuddin bin Haji Ibrahim, Deputy Managing Director of TAP, was announced as the new ASSA Secretary-General.
Following the handover, the newly appointed ASSA Chairman for 2025-2026 delivered his first special address, expressing gratitude to the outgoing Chairman and reaffirming Brunei Darussalam’s commitment to strengthening social security cooperation and innovation across ASEAN under the theme “Collective Progress – Transformative Reforms Towards a Secure Future for All.”
The successful completion of the 42nd ASSA Board and Secretariat Meeting marked another milestone in advancing unity, knowledge-sharing, and regional collaboration among ASEAN’s social security institutions.
